QCI Recreation Newsletter
Issue 6
It’s hard to believe that Summer is almost over, but that is definitely OK with us because now we can get back to our regular business and offer you more programs to last you through the Fall and Winter.
We want to thank people that were in attendance at the Tlell Fall Fair that shared a piece of 30th Anniversary celebration cake with us (it’s our 30th year of existing on island!) and were able to identify photo’s of people in QCI Rec. programs as far back as 1986. We are pleased that we can still offer you programs that you want and appreciate your support over these last three decades.
Teaching for QCI Rec.
As you may have seen on our web site or have heard us say that, “we are only good as our instructors.” And it’s true! We are always on the look out for new talent that has desire, drive and certification to “teach what you love” in your community or all communities. You can email or give us a call from Monday to Thursday 9-5 and we will be there to help facilitate you ideas.
Feedback
Recently we have implemented a handy little feedback widget into our website that allows you to send us your ideas and comments instantaneously and anonymously! Once you go to www.qcirec.com you will automatically see a red “feedback” button that will allow you to answer the current question or post a new comment or question for QCI Rec. to answer. If you have a great idea or program that you would like to see as a QCI Rec. program then get your friends to vote on it. The more votes an idea receives the more popular we know the idea is.
Fall & Winter Classes
We have looked into the future and we anticipate that over the fall and winter we will be able to bring you more youth dance classes, art classes for youth and adults, the Red Cross Babysitter’s program, Animation for youth workshops, wood working for adults and foreign cuisine cooking classes.
Teens and Young Adults
We know that sometimes the teens and young adults get left out in the cold with nothing to do and nowhere to go. QCI Rec. is working hard on a new “Recreation Paparazzi” Photo competition for youth and young adults to capture a winning image of their favourite type of recreation in their community. More news and information to follow in September.
If you are interested in film making or you just love to take videos of you and your friends then you may be interested in our Recreational Video competition as well! We hope that some budding film makers out there will take up their cameras, and film a 30 second video that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle in their community. Competition guidelines and entry dates will be announced in September.

We will begin these classes at the end of September in as many communities as we can book! QCI Rec. only provides you with certified teachers and professional training so you can get the most from you!
Once the schools have opened up and are ready to take our bookings we will have more times and schedules posted.
Drop in Sport Programs
When schools open their doors we will be able to book you and your favourite sport into your local school. If you would like to volunteer to open the doors for a sport then give QCI Rec. a call at 1-888-557-4418 and we will make the arrangements to make that possible.
